Concerning John Skinner and Alexis Antin

My brother and I just concluded the successful renovation and sale of our mom’s condo in Brentwood, with the expert and personable assistance and guidance of John Skinner and Alexis Antin.

Their support was present through every step of an extensive and successful renovation – and then – an extremely short marketing, showing, negotiating, and closing of the sale, for our full-asking price, to an excellent and well-qualified buyer.

Thanks to John and Alexis’ wide array of expertise and experience, we were able to make excellent choices in all phases of this process – from renovation and design, to pricing, marketing, working with the building’s HOA, and selling. Mind you, we didn’t agree on everything, but one of the positive aspects of our partnership was that we could engage in a robust discussion, arriving at what we all thought was an appropriate conclusion – with the knowledge that we’d have John and Alexis’ full support, regardless of “whose idea” had been put into practice. To my mind, this is a hallmark of a successful partnership, and John and Alexis participated whole-heartedly to help us realize this ideal.

A resounding success for all!

Best wishes,

Trista and I would like to thank you for your hard work and strong representation during the concurrent escrows we recently closed. Listing a home and searching for a new residence in the same time span can be quite stressful however you definitely made the process a lot smoother than we anticipated. Your accessibility and willingness to go beyond the call of duty made us feel very fortunate to have you as our realtor.

We look forward to seeing you in the near future and we will be referring any friends or family looking to buy or sell a home in the Los Angeles area in the near future. Thanks again.

I wish to convey my thanks and appreciation for the great work you did regarding the recent purchase of my home. In particular, I appreciate your ability to manage the various parties in the process, including myself, the seller's agent, the escrow company, and all the different inspectors we used during the contingency period. I found you and your staff's expertise to be very comforting, especially when explaining the different issues to me. I look forward to referring you additional business from my personal network as my friends and contacts look to buy or sell a home.

We closed escrow on a home in Santa Monica and wanted to let you know what a pleasure it was to work with John Skinner. John was diligent, thoughtful and always had our best interest at heart. I still call on John to take care of some issues that occur after such transactions and he is happy help where ever he can.

Both my wife and I work in commercial real estate (I am an Industrial Broker with Grubb & Ellis and my wife is an Asset Manager), so we understand the type of service an agent should provide and the value of being well represented. John and his staff met our needs every step of the way.

Our escrow was complicated by a volatile tenant and a divorced ownership. John handled many difficult issues and was able to get the escrow closed and help get the tenant out of the home early.

John’s thoroughness and commitment to his clients is impressive and comforting. We have and will refer him to others.

Joanne and I would like to thank you for the thoroughness and care you demonstrated while representing us on the purchase of our home.

Relocating the family from the East Coast and also having to concentrate on building a medical practice was not an easy task. However, you helped make what can be an extremely stressful situation very manageable. You were there for us every step of the way and I can’t tell you how much that meant to us. We never had a doubt that you had our best interests’ in mind and that was very comforting.

As the son of a doctor, you clearly understand what a doctor’s schedule can be like and thankfully worked within those constraints. Thanks again for all of your hard work and we look forward to staying in touch and working with you again in the future.

I recently closed escrow on the sale of my condo. John Skinner represented me in the transaction. John was superb and I felt compelled to write this brief note.

Among other things, John was accommodating, knowledgeable, thoughtful, creative, and most importantly, a zealous advocate on my behalf. He prepared amazing marketing materials, heroically, showed the unit dozens of times in a four-day period, deftly coordinated multiple offers and counter offers, charmingly liaised between Buyer and Seller, and closed the deal without a single hitch. What could have been awful was a painless experience.

I intend to hire John in the future and have already recommended (and I will continue to recommend) him to others. You have a star on your hands.

Recently, I had the experience of working with your agent, John Skinner. I am writing to let you know what a pleasure it was to work with John.

Our sale was a probate sale. Although the court approval was not required, all of the probate “formalities” still had to be followed. John represented the buyer, and with no agent on our side, the burden fell upon John to ensure the process proceeded properly. In addition, both the buyer and seller were clients who required a fair amount of hand-holding.

Throughout the entire process John remained professional and polite. He understood my client’s particular concerns and needs. He was able to keep both my client and his client happy. (And if my client was happy, I was happy.) Escrow closed on time, John’s client was able to move in on the day he wanted to, and my client had the property sold without any undue pressure or complications.

I have John’s cards in my files and intend to call upon him when I have a future sale. I have also passed his card along to attorneys in our real estate department. It was a wonderful experience to work with John, and one I hope to have an opportunity to repeat.
